Diagnostic service call for 1989 Lennox gas furnace. Found furnace tripping on high limit. Found very dirty filter with date of 2018 Removed filter, furnace staying on now, not tripping on limit. Found a lot of rust and hot spots on heat exchanger with camera but no cracks at the moment. Based on age and condition of furnace I strongly recommend replacing furnace. Heat exchanger is in bad shape and runs a higher risk producing CO. Furnace is also venting into a chimney without a chimney liner.

Found faulty gas valve on Bryant furnace. Also cleaned the condensate trap. Ordered the gas valve and will replace it once it arrives.

Found outdoor unit never cycled power back on, turned on and cycled system. Wouldn’t ignite. Found gas valve off, turned on and cycled, all heating at this time, confirmed thermostat settings, recommend moving location to other side of the wall for more accurate reading, maintenance to move and add a lock box.
